The BJP government of India can’t accept the fall and escape of Sheikh Hasina on August 5, 2024. This is why the BJP has become particularly anti-Bangladesh party. Various Indian media are continuously campaigning that minorities and Hindus are being persecuted in Bangladesh. They are distorting the name of the current head of government of Bangladesh and writing ‘Molla Muhammad Yunus’. Named after Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar.
India’s Union Defense Minister and BJP leader Rajnath Singh addressed a joint conference of top commanders of the three forces at Lakshmau in Uttar Pradesh on September 5. There he directed the top military commanders of India to keep an eye on the ongoing situation in Bangladesh. In that speech, he asked the Indian armed forces to be ready to face the future war besides monitoring the situation in Bangladesh. While speaking, he cited the ongoing war between Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas as examples. These words of Rajnath Singh have created a great threat to the security and sovereignty of Bangladesh. Talking about the current situation of Bangladesh after the mass uprising, he basically threatened the people of Bangladesh and the current government with the example of Israel-Hamas and Russia-Ukraine war.
We all know how and for what purpose Israel occupied Palestine. But many are not particularly aware of the pretext on which Russia annexed Crimea and then attacked the entire Ukraine. Since the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1992, Ukraine became independent, the country has been in political turmoil. The counter-revolution saw a shift in power between pro-Russian and pro-Western European-American presidents. In November 2004, pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukov came to power in Ukraine through the ‘Orange Revolution’. After 10 years in February 2014, the “Maidan revolution” took place in Ukraine with the support of the Westerners. The ruling pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukov fled to Russia. This eliminates the possibility of a pro-Russian president being elected in Ukraine in the future; Russia is angry. As a result, an armed separatist or independence war began in the Donbass (Luhansk-Donsk) region of Ukraine, bordering Russia, with the help of Russia. Then in 2014, Russia occupied Crimea. A few years later, in February 2022, Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine. But it can’t do that easily. But since then, the Ukraine-Russia war is still going on. Ukraine has lost its territory, sovereignty and security. This has resulted in revolution and counter-revolution in Ukraine based on politicians’ greed, abuse of power, vote stealing, corruption, pro-block politics, etc. Many Russian-speaking citizens live in the Russian-Ukraine border area. Russia capitalized on this to create unrest within Ukraine and eventually seized large swaths of land from Ukraine.
However, I was talking about BJP leader and Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. He is not an ordinary man. Rather neat and tidy politician. He did not say those things about Bangladesh only for power-centric vote politics. He dreams a lot about the establishment of integral India. Meanwhile, BJP’s top leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah also made offensive comments about Bangladesh. Last September 20 (2024) in the Jharkhand state election rally, he threatened to find Bangladeshi infiltrators in that state and hang them upside down. Earlier in 2018, he called alleged Bangladeshi infiltrators ‘termites’, once again threatening to throw them into the Bay of Bengal. Along with India’s defense minister and home minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself joined the rally to express his anger about Bangladeshis. He expressed concern about the alleged Bangladeshi infiltrators during an election speech in Jharkhand on October 2. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 29, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma went on an election visit to Jharkhand and made explosive comments about Bangladesh. Jharkhand will soon become mini Bangladesh, he told Indian media ANI. Because the alleged Bangladeshi Muslim infiltration there is increasing their numbers and reducing the proportional number of indigenous Santal tribes. Earlier on September 6, 2022, Himanta Biswa Sharma called upon the opposition Congress to take action to form united Bharat by merging Bangladesh and Pakistan with India. The then Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina was on a state visit to India at the time of her speech. But still there is no strong protest of Himanta Sharma’s speech from Bangladesh; And the print and electronic media of our country do not criticize as much. The media of this country portrayed Himanta Sharma’s speech as a ploy of vote politics. In this way the media of Bangladesh hides the ambition of BJP or Himanta Sharma to establish a Akhand Bharat. Polling for 81 assembly constituencies of Jharkhand will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20. On this occasion, many BJP leaders, including the Prime Minister of India, the Home Minister and the Chief Minister of Assam, are plowing the election ground there.
They say that the population structure of Jharkhand is changing due to Bangladeshi infiltrators. In this argument, they are basically giving various incitements about Bangladesh.
On November 15, 2000, the state of Jharkhand was formed out of Chota Nagpur and Santal Parganas of Bihar State, India. The largest tribe in Bangladesh is the Santal community. Jharkhand is the original home of the Santals of this country. A hundred and fifty years ago (early 1900), many Santals came to Rajshahi region of Bangladesh from their native place of Jharkhand due to the English Nilkars.
For a long time in this country (especially during the Awami League period), Santals have been doing special politics. Therefore, the statements made by the BJP’s top leadership in Jharkhand to excuse the alleged Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators can create hatred among the Santals of Bangladesh. They may become angry with the Muslim population of this country.
We cannot take these statements of BJP politicians about Bangladesh lightly. Because in the past their words became reality. After Sheikh Hasina assumed power in 2009, former Indian Army Chief General Shankar Roy Chowdhury said in an interview in a Dhaka newspaper that Bangladesh will never be allowed to go out of Delhi’s radar again. After that, in the last 15 years (2009-2024), everyone knows the history of how India made Bangladesh its colony with the help of Sheikh Hasina.
After the end of Sheikh Hasina’s dictatorship on August 5, 2024, various kinds of activities are going on to create anarchy in Bangladesh. The defeated forces of the July revolution and the BJP are the fuelers of these subversive activities. Alleged Ansar rebellion, garment workers protest, Palli Vidyut Samity strike etc. are behind the agitations with various demands and inciting activities of BJP and Awami League. The biggest concern is the eight-point demand movement of the Hindus. Soon after Sheikh Hasina fled to India on August 5, alleged Hindu rallies took place across the country with slogans of Hindu Jago. A large number of Awami leaders and activists joined the Jago Hindu rally. In this way, Awami League wants to create chaos in the name of Hindu banner, wants to play the Hindu card. Common Hindus of this country must understand this crooked disaster Awami politics. In fact, the Hindus of this country are not benefiting from being used by Sheikh Hasina, Awami League and BJP. Rather, if a stable and prosperous Bangladesh is developed, the Hindus of this country can also benefit greatly. The brothers and sisters of the common Hindu community must understand that Bangladesh is their homeland. Like the Muslims here, Bangladesh is their address. Awami League can’t be the address of anyone including Hindus and Muslims of this country. And Awami League and Hindus cannot be synonymous. It should be remembered that Sheikh Hasina and Awami League are only using Hindus to re-introduce fascism in this country. Fascism has no religion. Fascist Hitler first exterminated the left-wing communists, then eliminated the right-wing opponents. BJP and Narendra Modi have targeted Muslims for the first 10 years, then Christians and Sikhs, then Dalit Hindus, and finally upper caste Hindus. Thus, fascism has no religion. Fascism and fascists love only themselves.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi used to make a lot of anti-China bullies just a while ago. But this year’s BRICS summit held in Kazan, Russia (22-24 October 2024) showed a different picture. Narendra Modi fell into the arms of China. Earlier (October 15, 2024), Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited Pakistan to attend the 16-member Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. In this way India has started dealing with its imagined enemies. Because the BJP government of India will not be able to keep the people happy forever by just raising the bar of Hinduism. Even if all the mosques in India are demolished and temples are built, it is not possible. That is why BJP and Narendra Modi have changed colors. Today India itself is burdened with its own problems. Any day, any time a public uprising against the BJP government can start. In such a situation, there is no question for the BJP government of India to think about the privileges of the Hindu population of other countries. India’s BJP government’s ambitious and flashy talk about the Hindu community at home and abroad is only meant to enhance its own power.
Therefore, the right thing for the Hindu community of Bangladesh is to support the democratic movement of this country and take this country forward through democracy. A large number of Hindu students participated in the July mass movement. In the future, many more people will have to join this movement. They also have to stand on the streets and protest the Indian conspiracy. At the same time, they have to be vocal against the oppression of Muslims inside India.
During the second week of October, the Hindu autumn festival of Durga Puja has ended peacefully in Bangladesh. Dr. Yunus government took strict security measures to ensure the smooth completion of the puja; Bangladesh army has worked tirelessly. The administration was particularly active along with other law enforcement agencies. Leaders and workers of many other political parties including BNP and some Islamic parties gave special courage and security in going to the temple. Therefore, the fall Durga Puja festival could be successful in this country by thwarting the conspiracy and incitement of BJP and Awami League. This is a great achievement of Dr Yunus government. But even then, the conspiracy of BJP and Awami League did not stop.
On October 25, a large gathering of Hindus was organized in Chittagong. Special arrangements are conducted under the leadership of Hindu priests. It is not difficult to understand that this arrangement is to give opportunity to Awami League. In that Hindu gathering, a group of misguided people flew the ocher flag of Hinduism over the national flag of Bangladesh. Dhaka Long March program was called from Sanatan Jagran Manch. In that rally, they asked for the Minority Protection Act. But they should have asked for the Bangladesh Protection Act. In fact, the common Hindus of this country are stepping into the trap planned by the BJP.
Hindus have more festivals or Parbans than Muslims. It is said that there are thirteen Parvans in the twelve months of Hindus. Therefore, there may be ongoing peace-stability destruction activities surrounding these festivals; Many things can happen. The strategy of insulting Islam may be used to incite Muslims against Hindus. Somewhere the Holy Qur’an may be defamed, and somewhere the Prophet (PBUH) may be insulted. By doing this, Muslims may be offended against Hindus. So ordinary Muslims and their religious Imams should be especially aware and patient about such traps. One should not step into the trap of conspiracy and do anything that endangers the lives and livelihood of their Hindu neighbors. The ultimate goal of BJP and Awami League is to destroy the bright image of Muslims in this country. That is why many rumors are being spread by BJP and Awami League. But in the sea of rumors we have to find the real facts; Lie must be defeated with truth. And lies are defeated.
