Sonali Life sees 62% growth in claims payments in early 2025

Sonali Life Insurance Company has achieved remarkable growth in its insurance claims payments, with a 62% increase in the first two months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. The company disbursed a total of Tk 63 crore in insurance claims during January and February this year, a significant rise from Tk 39 crore in the first two months of last year.

Despite the ongoing economic challenges in the country, Sonali Life, one of Bangladesh's leading life insurance providers, has maintained its impressive track record of settling insurance claims within a remarkable seven-day period.
According to the company's Acting Chief Executive Officer, Md. Rafiqul Islam, the insurance claims paid in January and February 2025 were Tk 31.76 crore and Tk 31.31 crore, respectively. This compares to Tk 19 crore and Tk 20 crore paid in the same months last year.

In addition to the strong start in 2025, Sonali Life recorded a 206% year-on-year increase in insurance claims paid for the entirety of 2024 compared to 2023. The company paid over Tk 380 crore in insurance claims throughout 2024, further solidifying its reputation in the industry.
Sonali Life's continued expansion in key regions, particularly in Chittagong, Bangladesh's economic hub and port division, has played a significant role in this growth. Nearly half of the company’s 231 branches are located in various districts and upazilas of Chittagong, and about 20,982 field workers are actively delivering life insurance services across the region.

The company’s consistent success, despite various challenges, underscores its ongoing commitment to securing the future financial well-being of its customers. This commitment is particularly evident in its ability to settle insurance claims, including death claims, in a swift and efficient manner.

A case in point is the story of Md. Rajib from Bhola Lalmohan, who passed away in February 2025. Having only made two installments of his insurance policy before his death, his wife and nominee, Israt Jahan, was surprised and grateful when Sonali Life paid the full insurance claim of Tk 1,84,900 in just two days. "Sonali Life paid the full insurance claim in just 2 days," Israt Jahan said, highlighting the company’s quick and reliable service.

Since its inception, Sonali Life has become a trusted name in the life insurance sector, with thousands of customers benefiting from its timely and effective services. The company has consistently earned high customer satisfaction and a strong reputation for delivering on its promises.

Sheikh Md Daniel, Director of Sonali Life Insurance, emphasized the company's focus on modernizing operations, saying, "By boosting information technology, offering easy premium payment methods, managing operations through modern ERP software, and ensuring timely payment of insurance claims, Sonali Life has distinguished itself as a unique and unstoppable force. As per data from the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA), Sonali Life paid 99.11% of its claims in 2024, making it one of the top six performing life insurance companies in Bangladesh. The company's robust performance, with the highest claims payout totaling Tk 380 crore, underscores its leadership in the industry. With such consistent growth and customer-centric services, Sonali Life Insurance is poised for another successful year in 2025.
