Eight people died of dengue in the last 24 hours till 8 am on Saturday. With this, the total death due to dengue this year stood at 350. In the last one day, 1,134 people were newly infected. With this, the number of hospitalized patients increased to 71,056 this year.
This information was gained in the press release sent by the Department of Health on Saturday.
It is said that out of the eight people who died in the last one day, four are from the Dhaka South City Corporation area. Besides, two people died in Barisal division, one in Chittagong division and one died while undergoing treatment in a hospital in Dhaka North City Corporation area.
In one day, 409 people were admitted in two cities of Dhaka, 240 people in Dhaka Division, 41 in Mymensingh, 163 in Chittagong, 110 in Khulna, 33 in Rajshahi Division, five in Rangpur Division, 131 in Barisal Division and two in Sylhet Division.
The circular also said that currently 4 thousand 433 people are admitted in different hospitals of the country. Among them, 2,013 people are admitted in different hospitals in Dhaka and 2,420 people are admitted in different hospitals outside Dhaka.
